Patra's Place will be mostly about my linen collection, but also about my SINS (Stuff I'll Never Stitch), UFOs (UnFinished Objects) and projects that I am currently working on. Since I created this first blog, I have diversified somewhat! You can see the list of my other blogs, and my favourite websites and blogs by other people, on the sidebar.

I love this set, it's gorgeous..
great find!
So quaint...I never saw anything like it. What a gracious and calm way of living they must have had back then. I always think of that generation (whichever one it was) as having a LOT of hard work to get through daily living and not any luxeries. My Mums description of her life sounded like a lot of work on the farm.
I know exactly what you mean, Maggie - our predecessors did have a much harder life, many without even electricity, let alone the mod.cons. that we have today. But somehow they still found time to create these beautiful items. Perhaps for many women (not the wealthy ones) it was the only way to bring some beauty into their lives.
