Remember the linen I cleaned for a friend while I was on holiday? Well, these are some pictures taken on the day I brought it back home, and Ken thought I had bought it all at an auction!

Patra's Place will be mostly about my linen collection, but also about my SINS (Stuff I'll Never Stitch), UFOs (UnFinished Objects) and projects that I am currently working on. Since I created this first blog, I have diversified somewhat! You can see the list of my other blogs, and my favourite websites and blogs by other people, on the sidebar.

Gina, how sweet of you to do all that work for your friend, even though I'm sure there were lots of 'pretties' there....=)
Did you use some special techniques and/or washing solution to clean all this linen?
Hi Maggie and Cici, thanks for your comments! Cici, I use an Aussie product called Napisan to soak all my linen. I forget what the American equivalent is called, but it comes under the class of oxygenating cleaners, or something like that. It does NOT contain ammonia or any kind of bleach. I soak my linens in it overnight (or longer if they are badly stained), then rinse them in cold water, and hang them on the clothes line to dry.
That's a lot of linen!
Oh my! You were busy.

I can just imagine my DH's face if I came home with a similar pile of books in boxes (to store for someone or something). He'd have a bird!!! Cheers Judy

Oh my goodness, that is a serious pile of linens! You are such a dear to undertake that much cleaning, especially while on holiday. Wish I could have seen Ken's face when he thought you bought it all, that would have been priceless!
