Crocheted doilies giveaway.

Many craft bloggers have giveaways to their readers - stash items such as fabrics and threads. I have been given a heap of doilies by Ken's cousin, who works for a company who clean out houses after someone has died or moved on elsewhere. Sue keeps an eye out for linens for me, and gave me this nice lot yesterday. I've soaked them all overnight, and if we get some wind or sun to dry them today, I'll be ironing them tonight, and put decent photos on here soon.
This lot however, aren't in my field of interest. While I can appreciate the work that goes into crochet, lacemaking, tatting, etc. I don't actively collect it. So, here is my giveaway - post a comment here telling me why you would like some of these, and what you will do with them. There is enough to go around for a few people, and I don't mind posting overseas, so don't hold back if you are not in Australia!

Wow Gina - how lucky are you!! You know you can dye these doileys and make them into postcards etc. Or add them to other projects, ie bags etc and embellish with beads, embroidery etc. If you do decide to give some away I would love one.

Hi Gina, that's very kind of you to share all that doiley-ish goodness!
I do collect the lace ones. I have several ideas- stitched onto pastel backgrounds and used as quilt blocks; a snowflake theme quilt made from good parts of damaged white doileys. I can't promise I would do anything soon with them as I have too many works in progress already. But meanwhile I do like to look and feel and place them around the house from time to time.
So if you would consider me, I would be honoured!

You are the lucky one Gina-I think I could use these in my crazy patchwork stuff.

These are all gorgeous. And you are so lucky to have an "inside source". I would probably use this with some pastels and white fabric to make throw pillows for my bedroom.

Joy, Joanne, Doreen and Renee - you are the lucky ones here! If you email me your postal address at gandkwil@hotmail.com,
I'll post a few of these off to each of you. After reading your ideas of what to do with them, I've decided to keep a few for myself (JUST a few), but there is plenty to go around!

Hi Gina! How extremely lucky you are to have been given those lovely doilies. I am probably too late for any left overs, but I would use them to make pincushions of course and also they make lovely collars for dolls and teddies.
You could also use some of the cloth doilies that are a little tattered and cut them for dolls clothes and lovely little aprons for them too! But if you happen to have a spare doiley with a sample of tatting, it would go to the sewing museum of course!

LOL Marian, you must have been typing your comment as I was typing my response here! No, of course you're not too late - just email me your address as I've instructed above, and you shall share in the booty!

Oh, I'll shove my name in here too - I love embroidered doilies. I love to make projects out of them, like little bags, pillows, curtains...you name it.

Gina, I always have a home for orphaned linens....as you know. I also preserve the designs for later on.....maybe one day someone might find these old designs just what they needed. You are so sweet to giveaway these. Blessings,Kathleen

Gina - I'm sorry I misunderstood! I'd still like them, but I'll leave them to the others that have laid claim, as I have plenty and probably shouldn't have more!!!
Thanks for the compliment. I just started that craft blog and the only friends I have don't do much of that at all so I had to get quite detailed about basic stuff. :)

I am a reader from Sri Lanka and think you are a generous soul to be able to part with some beautiful stuff. I use all the embroidered stuff I have specially table linen as I just love looking at it when its being used!

Thank you ladies, for all your nice comments about me being generous. Well, I would rather these go to a good home where they will be used in one form or another, instead of just gathering dust in an opshop somewhere.
