This is my Colour Change Sampler - showing the effects of blending four or five shades of a colour from darkest to lightest. All stitched using three strands, and mixing the shades to achieve subtle changes.

Patra's Place will be mostly about my linen collection, but also about my SINS (Stuff I'll Never Stitch), UFOs (UnFinished Objects) and projects that I am currently working on. Since I created this first blog, I have diversified somewhat! You can see the list of my other blogs, and my favourite websites and blogs by other people, on the sidebar.

Gina, that's a nice piece of abstract art, and an interesting colour exercise!
Very nice! It reminds me of those canvas work charts by Genny Morrow like Nova--with each square in that case showing different stitches. This is cool with the varied colors--it shows nice shading!
Hi Gina,
That's so cute. You have an amazing amount of tallent. Thanks for the comment on my blog. BTW just a thought, try using rope instead of carpet on the scratch post. Takes a wee bit longer to wrap but lasts a long time. I'll post a picture later of what I'm trying to describe. Thanks again for all your support. :-)
Hi everyone, thanks for your compliments! I hope to be able to put this sampler to practical use one day, when I am confronted with one of my UFOs and no colour chart to follow.
Patty, that is a good idea about using rope on Topsy's scratching post; when she has clawed the existing piece of carpet off her post, I will try the rope trick - lol!
hi - thanks for your comments. Your colour change sampler is an interesting idea, hope you find it useful in the future.
