NOT a good pic of Ken - this was taken about 15 years ago when he grew a beard just to see what it would look like! But a gorgeous photo of Patra and Smokey, who weren't good friends, but tolerated each other to keep the peace!

Reminds me of my husband and our cats. Scott walks in the door and he's like Noah! The 4 kitties just follow him everywhere! I of course am their servant during the day but once Scott gets home, they have no more use for me!

Gina, am I correct in assuming that Patra is no longer with you? If that's the case, I'm sorry. I know how hard that is.

Patra was our first pet, adopted as a kitten a week after we had moved into our house. After a year, I got Ken a black kitten for Xmas, as he always said he liked black cats. Sooty only lasted a year before he was hit by a car. We had a couple of dogs by then as well as Patra, so things went along like that for a few years, until Ken came home one day with a fluffy grey kitten in his arms; a girl where he worked had brought a box of kittens in for anyone who wanted one. So that is how we got Smokey. Patra lived for 20 years, and died 5 years ago. Smokey died about 3 years ago, aged 14. After that we were catless until we adopted Topsy from the Cat Protection Society, 18 months ago.

Adorable!

It just so happens. I am fond of dogs and dogs are not so fond of cats. Why????

(lets out a sigh)

Hi Gina,
Pam couldn't have summed it up better. lol Patra is just adoreable, that's the Color type of cat we went looking to adopt. But couldn't find any that color. Doesn't matter as our current babies give us a great deal of love.
Hugs,
Patty
