Dinner's on! Here are the Lorikeets on the feeding station Ken built for the birds. We put out apple and seed mostly, and bread for the doves and other non-native birds.

Oh Gina, these are such beautiful birds! So many colors on one bird! We don't have any like this. Oh, we have redbirds and bluebirds and brown and orange birds and of course my little hummingbirds which I live for seeing. But nothing like this. They're so beautiful!

We are indeed very fortunate in Australia to have a wide variety of beautifully coloured parrots, finches and cockatoos. The Eastern Rosellas are just as stunning as these Lorikeets, and the tiny Gouldian Finch looks like it has been painted with a small paintbrush, it is so perfect. If you can't find pictures of them anywhere, Pam, I will scan some and put them on here. Oh darn it, I am just going to have to start another blog - no, several blogs! Australian Wildlife, Swap Cards...

Ken just came in and read your comment. He said you have some neat things over there - mountain lions and Indians - LOL! He is very interested in Native American culture and artifacts, and has been nagging me for years to finish a large cross stitch picture of an Indian chief in full feather head dress. I am about two thirds finished, but I keep getting sidetracked on smaller projects...so much to do, so little time.

Yes, we do have some neat things here. Although where Scott and I live, we don't see mountain lions everyday! They're more out west. There are some native american indian reservations north of us in Wisconsin but the majority of those are out west as well.
