This is a small cloth, cross stitch on evenweave fabric (not linen), and it is quite lovely - such a crisp clean look with the blue and red on the white. The design here is in the centre, and the border at the top is repeated twice all around the cloth.

Thanks for your comment on my blog about the vintage samplers being deconstructed. I was so shocked to read it on Sharon's blog. I had never heard of such a thing & still am irritated about it.

I cannot imagine taking out somebody's stitching like that ...
