Finally, an old unworked cloth - possibly not what you are looking for. I have been longing to make a start on this, but as there were no instructions with it, I have no idea what colours or stitches to use. Any suggestions?

you could always work it in red and green and use it for Christmas.
That is a neat idea, Robyn! I will dig out some of those colours and see what I come up with.
How nice! I see the edge with the tiny holes to crochet or tat in...I think. How nice to see something so vintage!
I'm not sure what colors or stitches you enjoy; however, it is really an interesting pattern : )
