And here is the back of the mail art envelope. I blocked out the name and address for obvious reasons...just wanted to show you how the whole project is finished off. Isn't it gorgeous!

Yes, it is gorgeous! Now, does this go through the mail, or how does it work? This is the first time I've ever seen anything like this. Its beautiful...how special to recieve as a gift too!
Yes Maggie, these mail art envelopes go through the mail just as they are - not wrapped in plastic or anything. I am amazed it is in such good condition, especially at this time of the year when there is so much more mail in the system around the world, and the chances of it getting stained or damaged are much greater.
That is interesting that it would be able to go through the mail system ...button and all and come out ok. I'm impressed!
