No sewing happening here.

As I said in an earlier post, I have 'lost my mojo' for sewing at the moment.  In addition to the reasons I gave before, I now have a physical problem that has prevented me from doing any kind of sewing by hand or on a machine.  I had a motorcycle accident about 40 years ago in which my neck was nearly broken.  As the doctors and other specialists have put it over the years when they see X rays of my neck, "You've really trashed your neck!"  It will be fine for a year or so, then I'll get an episode of severe pain where a nerve is pinched by some of the vertebrae which are degenerating over time.   In the past month I have had 8 chiropractic treatments, four acupuncture treatments, dozens of remedial massages, and taken Panadeine Forte, Valium, Nurofen, and whatever else I can find that might kill pain.  It is finally all beginning to take effect, and tonight is the first time I've been able to sit here and type for more than a few minutes.
The doctors are all telling me now that I will eventually have to have surgery to fix my neck, but don't worry - surgical techniques have come a long way in the last few years, and it is not as invasive as it used to be.
Hmmm.   Time will tell.   The way I feel at the moment, I may as well just sell all my fabric and sewing gear at a market because I can't see myself ever doing much of it again.

Oh no. These bodies just don't want to cooperate sometimes. Hopefully, you will start feeling better and get the urge to sew or craft. Hang in there.

Sorry to hear you are in pain. I have aging bones in my neck that pinch the nerve, too, so I can really sympathize! Don't worry - you will be able to stitch again. In the meantime my advice is this: don't hunch your shoulders!

So sorry to hear this. I had just come across this link about vintage clothing and haberdashery being sold at Como in March.
http://www.nationaltrust.org.au/vic/VintageClothingSale and thought I would send it to you - I will anyway, you could just go and look and enjoy, not buy anything.
I know how tiring it is to be in pain, so take care. As you say, modern medicine can do wonders these days.

Don't make any decisions yet, see how you go over the next few months. Hope you get a bit more relief from the pain in the coming weeks, it's no fun to live with

Oh my, please be slow to decide not to sew, stitch and create again. Give yourself a breathing space for a while and see how things work out. I will be keeping you lifted up in prayer and hope you are feeling much better soon.

Gina, so sorry to hear what you have been going through. But take a break, relax, do what the Drs tell you, but in no way give up! Time always heals. Read your mag and books and plan what to do next - let Ken and others look after you - you are always there for others. Wish I lived closer and we could have a chat, coffee, etc. Take care Gina.

That is no good at all. I hope that everything settles down soon.
I need to post to my blog again also. My Dad had a stroke 2-3 weeks ago and it has affected his sight and we have been told that he'll need to go into an aged care facility. It could have been much worse for him, there has been some improvement with his eyes but not enough to allow him to go back home

That is so sad, Gina. Hope you are feeling much better soon. I'm trying hypnotherapy for my pain - I'll let you know how it goes.
