Kitten doiley incomplete.

I put this picture on to my other non-stitching blog in error yesterday but as there are comments on it already, I'll leave it there, and just reproduce it here, for those readers who just look at this blog for my linen. As this was given to me with no embroidery instructions, I'm taking the easy way and just using the basic stitches like lazy daisy and outline stitch. Poor kitty looks a bit cross-eyed because of the way the black stitching lies on the yellow of the right eye! I had to use my limited imagination with colours too...a red plush velvet couch sounded nice, and kitty is black because we have a black one of our own. I'm still not sure what colour to do the flowers. With the red couch, purple cushion, and green leaves, I'm reluctant to bring too much more colour into it. I thought a yellow/orange combination. Any suggestions?

It's beautiful! I agree about the yellow and orange for the flowers. That would just be perfect! I think the kitten's eyes are so cute. If you'll notice, a lot of cats are a bit cross-eyed in real life! Wonderful job!

How sweet this piece is Gina! Glad you enjoyed the collage of my Monopoly board..grin. I have one thats a special edition of New York City...love it. I enjoyed your comments...thanks for coming by. I've been really busy lately...my cello practise takes up alot of time. Then there's my tatting, and learning to spin on my new wheel...I'm smiling to beat the band...plus all the humdrum household things! I'm sure you know just what I mean...=)

Hi again ladies - thanks for the suggestions. I love the colours in Janice's butterfly too, but I think for this one I'll stick to the yellow/orange combo. You've all unwittingly given me an idea - to use variegated thread in the yellow shades! I'm still working on the doiley, so when I've finished I'll post another pic.
