As well as the apron I found today at an opshop (see my apron blog for a photo), I found these two little mats. They aren't really doilies, just squares, but nicely stitched.

Patra's Place will be mostly about my linen collection, but also about my SINS (Stuff I'll Never Stitch), UFOs (UnFinished Objects) and projects that I am currently working on. Since I created this first blog, I have diversified somewhat! You can see the list of my other blogs, and my favourite websites and blogs by other people, on the sidebar.

I haven't done all of the stitches shown on TAST, as some are simply too complex for me to figure out by diagrams alone. I learn much quicker when I have someone at my side to show me.
These pretty FPCs were sent to me by Neki in Spain, who is donating them to bushfire survivors. People have been so kind for this project.

Thsi is a nice little item of cutwork, with subtle shading on the embroidered edges. I put this one and the one above on a shaded background, to highlight the work, as it would have got lost in the white glare of the scanner otherwise.
These next two are simple doilies, nicely stitched.
Cross stitched roses are a dime a dozen, as the Americans say! I have a number of doilies and cloths with roses cross stitched on them, but I thought this one was a nicer than usual example.
